The Elves Class have been enjoying learning about Harvest and how we celebrate Harvest in our Country. On Wednesday 18th October, we joined the whole school, for a Harvest Collective Worship at St Christopher's Church. Reverend Simon helped us to understand more about how Christian's Celebrate Harvest and thanked us for all our kind donations to the Highbridge food bank. We all sang songs and shared the Lord's Prayer.
When we returned to school we continued the Harvest Celebration, preparing for and baking our very own Hedgehog bread loaves. Once baked to perfection, we enjoyed eating our bread and some other delicious treats.
Happy Harvest Everyone!
British Science Week 2017
To celebrate British Science week the entire school community worked together on a special project! We designed and completed various science experiments at home and in school and displayed them in our Class exhibition on Wednesday afternoon. Our families were invited in to join in with the fun and together we shared over 27 experiments within the hour!!! That is pretty impressive stuff, don't you think? Some of the fun was captured on our class iPad and you can find the photos below.
A huge thank you to all our families who helped support this special occasion. The children not only enjoyed sharing their own work but together gained so much from sharing other friend's experiments too.
Happy New Year!
Our new theme for the Spring term is 'Let's Build'. We have already thought about all the different way's we can build something; practically, emotionally and/or within our written work.
The children have began exploring the lives of significant individuals such as Isambard Kingdom Brunel ,in our History work.
We've been constructing number bonds to 10,20 and 100 within our Math's work.
We have thought about how we build trusting and respectful friendships and have highlighted people around us who we trust and care for.
We have also looked at our English work in more detail and decided to investigate how we can build bigger and better sentences.
All this and it is only week 2. Watch this space for updates on some of our building projects as they develop throughout the term and be warned there will be one special project coming home later!
