Lympsham C of E Academy and Lympsham Pre-School

A Christian Community with Children at its Heart

Remembrance Service

On Friday 9th November at 1100 the school fell silent for 2 minutes to mark the 100th Anniversary of the end of the 1st World War. Poppies were planted in No Man's Land of a model made by the Unicorns before a poem was recited by Alex. A whistle was then blown to mark the start of the silence which was immaculately observed by the whole school.  The end of the silence was marked by the words of Robert Laurence Binyon's Poem, For the Fallen;

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

The spectacular display at the front of the school is made up of pictures created by each child in the school, a beautiful and poignant tribute to the fallen.

We will remember them.
