Eco School Warriors 2023-2024

To celebrate International Rewilding Day the Eco Committee have been doing some jobs around the school. They have put up our Solitary Bee houses and also spread some more seed onto the Wildflower Patch to make sure it is full of wild flowers once again this year.

International Rewilding Day- March 20th 2024

Wednesday 20th February, our fabulous Eco Committee explained to the whole school how they can all do their little bit to help nature.

They explained how they had set up and registered the school as a Wild Space in support of Butterfly Conservation's Wild Spaces campaign.

They challenged everyone to make their own at home. It is so easy to do, just click on the link below and follow the instructions, you can also see our wild space, just search for Lympsham on the map and click on the circle with 'school' on.

The Eco Committee - 2018/19

Our New Eco School

Our re-launched Eco Schools Committee had their first meeting on 17th May 2019. We have made a long list of Eco activities we can do as a school and the children are excited to get started.

There are a few things we can all do straight way and that is to start to recycle some of those trickier items through our school recycling schemes. We have a collection box for batteries, crisp packets and pens (all writing equipment, except pencils). Please collect at home and help us reduce the amount we send to landfill.

Committee members are going to feedback to their classes and help each class to recycle their pens, paper and crisp packets. There will be recycling boxes in each class very soon.

Lots more coming very soon.

The Eco Schools have been busy planting and getting ready for harvesting some potatoes, tomatoes and cucumbers.  Lets hope the weather stays warm to that their plants grow well.

Eco Schools Harvest

We are in the process of electing our new Eco School Committee for 2014-15. The Committee meets at least once every half term, to discuss our school environment and how this could be improved.  We try to give the children activities to keep them inspired, and also discuss ways in which we can be a more eco friendly school.

Keep watching this post for latest news on Eco Schools.
